Palacio de Granda
Este trimestre los alumnos de 5º de primaria en clase de ciencia computacional🦾🧠👩💻⌨️💻 han estado aprendiendo todo sobre Programación y Robótica.
Utilizando materiales reciclados junto con ZumKitJr están trabajando en equipos para crear una máquina del tiempo. 🛞🚀🕹⏳🕰Han estado usando declaraciones condicionales para programar diferentes botones para realizar diferentes acciones. Han hecho un botón que reproduce una canción y otro botón que hace que un servo gire y las luces parpadeen.
A través de este tipo de proyectos, donde la tecnología es un medio más que un fin, los alumnos de primaria desarrollan una serie de competencias y habilidades como son el trabajo en grupo, la creatividad, la flexibilidad o la interacción con sus compañeros, observando que puede llegarse a la misma solución desde caminos diferentes, que serán primordiales para sus próximas etapas.
Cuando hayan acabado, además de hacer un viaje a través de canciones e historias (con la máquina del tiempo) habrán conseguido dominar dos tecnologías disruptivas (la programación y la robótica) mientras trabajan en equipo.🤝🤛💪
Este proyecto es solo un ejemplo de cómo la tecnología puede usarse como medio de aprendizaje para conseguir unos objetivos que van más allá del puro conocimiento.

Los árboles absorben los gases de efecto invernadero, que son la principal causa del cambio climático.
A través de la Ecoescuela y nuestro huerto promovemos el cuidado y la plantación de 🪴 árboles, así como la educación medioambiental, para formar ciudadanos con valores y responsabilidad sostenible y ecológica.

El día hoy nuestros alumnos de 3º de la ESO como actividad complementaria tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer un tour personalizado en las instalaciones del Estadio El Molinón • Enrique Castro "Quini"y asistieron al programa en vivo de "La Tribuna" con una sesión dedicada al deporte y la mujer.
Recibieron por parte de Carmen López surfista invidente y entrenadora de perros, la única con esta discapacidad certificada en Europa, consejos sobre como lograr convertirse en un deportista de elite.

Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestro alumno Juan, de Year 9, quien participará en una competición de robótica 🤖 en Estados Unidos, junto a otros jóvenes de entre 10 y 13 años de la provincia de Castellón. Allí se enfrentarán a equipos de 45 nacionalidades en un reto de SlapShot con robots 🤖 en un desafío de equipo donde se valorará la programación, ingeniería e investigación, además del diseño del robot. ¡Enhorabuena y mucha suerte! 😊🍀

Hace unas semanas, los seis alumnos que participaron en el EYP en Sevilla tuvieron la oportunidad de encontrarse con Javi Quevedo, quien fue uno de los principales organizadores del acto, y Mercedes Orge, que ejerció de presidenta de uno de los comités.
Es un orgullo increíble ver a nuestros 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗼𝘀 desempeñando dichos roles en un evento de tal envergadura como es el 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

A few weeks ago, the six students who participated in the EYP in Seville had the opportunity to meet 𝑱𝒂𝒗𝒊 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒅𝒐, who was one of the main organisers of the event, and 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒆, who served as chair of one of the committees.
It is an incredible pride to see our 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗼𝘀 playing such roles in an event as important as 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Del 3 al 5 de marzo, 6 alumnos de El Altillo International asistieron a la 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗶ó𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗱 𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮. Myriam B., Cristina C., Pablo G., Carmen H., Mercedes L. y Javier M.
Durante los tres días que duró el evento, trabajaron muy duro en sus respectivas comisiones para preparar el debate de la Asamblea General, y fue un acontecimiento increíble. Salieron de su zona de confort y realmente destacaron en el evento, no sólo académicamente sino también demostrando valores y respeto.

On 3rd-5th March, 6 students from El Altillo International attended the 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗘𝗬𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯. Myriam Burgos Rodríguez, Cristina Contreras Pardo, Pablo Gómez Sánchez, Carmen Harhoff Jordi, Mercedes Lacave Díez and Javier Muñoz Hedrera.
During the three day event they worked incredibly hard in their respective committees to prepare for the General Assembly debate and what an incredible event it was. They pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and really stood out at the event, not only academically but also in demonstrating values and respect. Después de comprobar la misión y visión de nuestro Colegio, han investigado sobre la misión, visión y objetivos de una empresa de su elección. Con la información que han obtenido en su investigación han montado los murales que podéis ver en las imágenes.
Además, ¡algunos de ellos han usado la cortadora láser de nuestro Fab Lab para la ejecución de las letras!
En la puesta en común, han reflexionado sobre los valores y objetivos de cada una de las empresas elegidas.

In their Business Management class, the students of 1st Baccalaureate IB have studied the mission and vision of a company. After checking the mission and vision of our school, they have researched the mission, vision and objectives of a company of their choice. With the information they have obtained from their research, they have put together the murals that you can see in the pictures.
In addition, some of them have used the laser cutter of our Fab Lab to make the letters!
In the sharing session, they reflected on the values and objectives of each of the chosen companies.

Ella es Cat, nuestra profesora de Infantil 2 años y ¡una auténtica campeona! Este fin de semana ha participado en la 𝗫𝗜 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶ó𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗼, donde durante 36 horas ha estado corriendo por las montañas de la Sierra de Cádiz y Ronda completando 160km (100 Millas). Además, ¡Quedando tercera en su categoría!.
Un gran aplauso para ella, no solo por el logro si no por el trabajo realizado durante todo este tiempo con tenacidad y perseverancia para cumplir su objetivo.

This is Cat, our Infants teacher and a real champion! This weekend she took part in the 𝗫𝗜 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶ó𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗼, where for 36 hours she has been running through the mountains of the Sierra de Cádiz and Ronda completing 160km (100 Miles). What an interesting trip to 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞!
Dentro de nuestro viaje a Geneve visitamos las instalaciones del CERN Centro Europeo de Energía Atómica CERN, en una visita guiada en la que pudimos conocer algunas de sus instalaciones y escuchamos explicaciones sobre el origen y los logros de la física de partículas a través del acelerador de partículas más importante del mundo.
As part of our visit to Geneve, we visited the facilities of the CERN European Atomic Energy Centre on a guided tour where we could visit some of its facilities and listened to explanations of the origin and achievements of particle physics through the most important particle accelerator in the world.

We are pleased to inform you that our school has successfully passed to the next phase of the "II Reto en Salud de Andalucia: Type 1 diabetes in school" organised by the Junta de Andalucia. Our school nurse, Escarlata Godino-Rios and the Head of Primary Spanish Maria Rubio are in charge of the competition and there will be an online meeting for all the participants on the 25th June. Escarlata and Maria have created a video in which they explain how everyone in school can work together to help minimise the impact of juvenile diabetes. Tenemos muy buenas noticias. Nuestro colegio ha pasado de fase en el Concurso "II Reto en Salud de Andalucía: Diabetes Tipo 1 en el ámbito escolar", convocado por la Junta de Andalucía. La participación en el programa está a cargo de nuestra enfermera, Escarlata Godino-Ríos, y de la Jefa de Estudios de Español en Primaria, María Rubio. El próximo 25 de Junio tendrá lugar un encuentro virtual en el que se reunirán todos los concursantes. Our Year 12 student Jesús A.P. has taken part in the horse riding television programme Parada a Raya which was shown last Saturday. Jesús is the Andalusian and Spanish Champion for dressage in the youth category and he is setting himself up for a great future in the competition. In Primary EAL (English Additional Language), we finished our fun week with 'Fort Friday'. Everyone built a fort and we read our favourite stories to each other. Angela and Aida couldn't build a fort as they were travelling to Marbella but they didn't want to miss out on the fun so joined us on their iPad in the car - serious dedication! 👏
En el curso de EAL (English Additional Language), hemos terminado nuestra semana de diversión con el "Viernes en el Fuerte". Todo el mundo construyó un fuerte y leímos nuestras historias favoritas, unos a otros. Ángela y Aída no pudieron construir su fuerte porque estaban de viaje a Marbella pero no quisieron perderse la diversión y... ¡se unieron a nosotros con el iPad desde el coche! ¡Esto sí que es entusiasmo! 👏
Muy pronto despedimos el curso académico y aprovechamos para abrir nuestro colegio más que nunca. Como cada año, nuestro Departamento de Admisiones seguirá realizando visitas durante el verano, siguiendo las debidas medidas de seguridad e higiene. Además, después de nuestra exitosa experiencia del mes pasado, volvemos a celebrar nuestras Jornadas Virtuales de Puertas Abiertas. ¿O deberíamos llamarlas Jornadas de Pantallas Abiertas? En cualquier caso, nos vemos online para dar a conocer nuestro colegio y explicar el aprendizaje que ocurre a diario entre nuestros alumnos. ¡Os esperamos!
We are almost at the end of another academic year and we are taking advantage to open our school up more than ever. Our Admissions Department will continue with school visits during the summer, just like every year, following the necessary health and safety measures. What´s more, after our successful experience last month we are once again holding Online Open Days, or should we call them Open Screens? In any case we will see you online to show you our school and explain the learning which takes place every day amongst our students. We hope to see you there!

Our anti-bullying project continues with students making their own campaign films this week.
At LES we take “bullying” very seriously. As part of the “anti-bullying project”, a series of initiatives have been carried out in the Secondary School to raise awareness on this issue and make it clear that we do not tolerate any such behavior in our school and make sure that everyone knows how to act in cases where “bullying” is suspected.
Our students will be showcasing their powerful work at the Anti Bullying film festival on November 15th
